Charity Support

Ruben and his brother Milan kindly sponsor Chantel and Junior who are both 8 years old, living in Kenya. We have sponsored both children for their education in Baobab School for their primary education which makes a huge difference to their progress.

The boys have realised how privileged and lucky they are and can be in a good position to help others less fortunate and grow and change the children’s lives in Kenya for the better.

The project started in 2008 with 15 children in a small cowshed in a poor district near Nairobi. In 2011, the funds donated were raised to construct a purpose-built school, with three classrooms, a kitchen and an office where we educate 90 young children.

Ruben has created several 3D printed toys to give to Chantel & Junior including a boat, fidget toys and dinosaurs.

Ever wondered how Ruben’s awesome creations go from idea to finished product? Here’s how it all happens!

💡 Step 1: The Idea

Every product starts with an idea. Sometimes Ruben gets inspired by things he sees, problems he wants to solve, or just random thoughts that pop into his head. He sketches them out and thinks about how they might work.

🖥️ Step 2: Designing the Model

Once the idea is ready, Ruben jumps on his computer and uses special 3D design software to bring it to life. Some of the designs he creates himself, and others he tweaks and customises to make them better or more fun.

🖨️ Step 3: 3D Printing

Now it’s time for the magic to happen! Ruben sends the design to his 3D printer, which slowly builds the item layer by layer using a material called PLA – it’s a plastic made from plants, so it’s kinder to the environment too.

Depending on the size and detail, some prints can take hours – but Ruben keeps a close eye to make sure everything’s printing just right.

🛠️ Step 4: Finishing Touches

Once the printing is done, Ruben removes the supports, smooths out any rough edges, and checks that everything works the way it should. Some items get painted or put together if they have moving parts.

📦 Step 5: Ready to Share

When everything’s perfect, it’s time to pack it up and send it out! Every product you see on this site has been made with care and creativity by Ruben – and he's super proud to share them with you.
